Q: Tell us your career history – the short version please!!

A. I’ve had a varied career over the last 30 years, but unusually for these days it was all in the same agency – until now. I started my career as a Mac Artworker, back when it was still called Desk Top Publishing, and from there took a rather circuitous route, via Account Management, Traffic Management, Print Buying and Creative Production roles, to get me where I am today. It’s been quite a learning curve.

Q: Describe your current role at SWC

A. I’ve just joined SWC to take up a new position in the agency, as Creative Services Manager. The agency is growing and evolving, which is brilliant, but with this expansion, brings the need to have someone to marshall the troops, or in this case our brilliant creative resource. So, this means I am working in collaboration with the account team (client services) to allocate budgets, review the content of new briefs and agree on timings, so we can plan in the best creative resource to work on each project.  It’s an exciting time to be joining the team and helping to deliver excellent work.

Q: What excites you most about joining SWC Partnership?

A. Everything! After such a long time with one agency, it’s a breath of fresh air to be here – the people are a talented, very friendly and supportive bunch. SWC has a global reach so it’s a chance to work on some great brands. I’m looking forward to making a difference here and becoming a valued member of the team.

Q: Which aspect of marketing do you enjoy the most and why?

A. Interaction. Whether it’s with my colleagues or suppliers, or occasionally with clients – it’s always great to be working with new and different people to keep learning and contributing. Plus, in my role, I get to see a project evolve from the original brief through to the final delivered assets.

Q: Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

A. Don’t waste energy worrying about making the right decision. Review the options; make the decision; then make it right.

Q: What’s your biggest motivation when working on a client project?

A. Obviously delivering a cracking job, on brief, on time and on budget is the first and biggest motivation, but also to enjoy doing it and have a sense of pride and ownership.

Q: One thing we didn’t know about you is…

A. When I was 35 I threw in the day job and went off to the French Alps to be a chalet host. I’d never skied before in my life, so it was another learning curve – but more downhill, than up! Never regretted doing it – had a blast for a winter and made some lifelong friends along the way. Plus, indirectly, it led me to meeting my husband.

Why ABM Drives Real Results in B2B Strategy

Why the traditional funnel is losing its edge  In today’s B2B landscape, broad-brush marketing tactics simply don’t cut it. Buyers are more selective. Budgets are tighter. Inboxes are overflowing.  To break through the noise, marketers need a sharper, more focused approach. That is where Account-Based Marketing (ABM) comes into play. ABM flips the traditional funnel […]
